What is bitcoin going to do to prevent quantum computers from generating private keys from public keys?
From what i understand Bitcoin uses a form of RSA to generate public keys and private keys. So when quantum computers gain enough qubits its going to be possible to extract your private key from your public key. Are there currently any proposals for changes to prevent this. Im just interested in bitcoin so please correct me if im wrong about something

Couple questions about public / private keys and gifting bitcoin from noob, looking for clear answers
So I am new to bitcoin. I just put a few hundred dollars into my bitcoin (mycelium) wallet and am a bit confused.. There is a lot of different information online about public/private keys and it seems each wallet is handled differently and you get different answers pertaining to each. I just want to know how to be in total control of my bitcoin funds and never have a chance of losing them if I lost my phone no matter what wallet I'm using.. 1- I understand that the 12-word "backup" is all I need if I needed to restore my mycelium wallet... but what if mycelium was shut down tomorrow, how would I recover my bitcoin wallet then? 2- A friend has thousands of dollars worth in a coinbase wallet, I am concerned though, since he doesn't need to do any sort of backup, his private key is being held by coinbase and only protected by his password and 2-factor authentication, isn't this less secure then mycelium?? Couldn't he have the same thing happen to coinbase that happened to bitfinex? 3- I want to give bitcoin wallets as gifts to a few family members this Christmas so that they can spend it online and hopefully see the advantages of bitcoin. What is the best way to do this for people with mediocre computer knowledge? Thanks!!
